Your insurance and your FH-1

We do not list a deadline for telling your insurer because it depends on your policy. Read your policy, or ask your broker or carrier.

If your insurance changes after a crash, TLC says owners must keep a current FH-1 on file. Update it by emailing TLCinsurance@tlc.nyc.gov the FH-1 and the declarations page (not an ACORD form).

Yellow taxi and street hail livery owners

TLC has separate rules for medallion taxis and SHLs. Confirm any extra reporting steps with TLC before you rely on this list.

TLC crash data

TLC publishes monthly counts of TLC vehicles involved in crashes, by industry, under Local Law 31: TLC Vehicles Involved in Crashes (NYC Open Data).
